Eerder vandaag een samenwerking tussen Amerikaanse groothandel Walmart<\/a> en Litecoin<\/a> werd aangekondigd. Volgens deze samenwerking zou Walmart Litecoin accepteren als betaalmethode op al hun online platforms. Dit zorgde natuurlijk voor een pompje in de prijs. Dit keer een prijsstijging van maar liefst 35%.<\/p>\n

Een paar uur later kwam Walmart naar buiten met een verklaring waarin ze lieten weten dat het bericht over deze samenwerking niet waar was, wat natuurlijk resulteerde in weer een enorme dump. Hoe kon dit gebeuren? En wat kunnen we ervan leren?<\/p>\n

De samenwerking tussen Walmart en Litecoin<\/h2>\n

Op maandagochtend bekende en over het algemeen goed ge\u00efnformeerde bronnen zoals: CNBC<\/a>, Reuters<\/a> en decoderen<\/a>, evenals verschillende andere crypto-mediakanalen, maakten bekend dat Walmart vanaf 1 oktober Litecoin-betalingen op al hun online platforms zou accepteren. Litecoin Stichting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Zoals je waarschijnlijk had verwacht, ging de hele cryptowereld op hol. Duizenden, zo niet miljoenen mensen besloten te investeren in LTC. Dit resulteerde in een prijsstijging van maar liefst $237,-<\/p>\n

Een paar uur later kwam een persvoorlichter van Walmart naar buiten met een verklaring. Daarin noemde hij het nieuws 'niet authentiek. Ook de directeur Marketing van de Litecoin Foundation maakte bekend dat het nepnieuws was. Dit zorgde voor een enorme prijsdaling, van bijna precies $237,- weer.<\/p>\n
