In het House of Representatives, waar federale wetten worden gemaakt en gestemd is er sprake van een wetgeving dat opgesteld om stablecoins te reguleren of zelfs verbieden. Dit met een verbod in te voeren van minstens twee jaar instellen op algoritmische stablecoins.<\/span><\/p>

Endogenously collateralized stablecoins<\/span><\/h3>

Het wetsvoorstel zou het hebben over nieuwe \"endogene stablecoins met onderpand\", ook gekend als niet-gedekte stablecoins, waarbij een verbod komt op het uitgeven of cre\u00ebren.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Endogenously collateralized stablecoins zijn stablecoins die op de markt worden gebracht als zijnde converteerbaar of terug te kopen voor een vast stabiel bedrag. Maar volledig afhankelijk zijn van de waarde van een ander digitaal aandeel om deze vaste prijs te behouden.<\/span><\/p>

De doodsspiraal van Terra Luna<\/span><\/h3>

Denk hierbij aan Luna dat werd gebruikt om TerraUSD - UST stabiel te houden. Waarbij TerraUSD - UST werd ontworpen om een 1-op-1 pegged te blijven aan de Amerikaanse dollar. Dit werd geregeld door het buy & burn mechanisme van Luna. Maar wat er uiteindelijk gebeurde, was een verlies van meerdere miljarden dollars en een enorme negatieve impact op de markt en het vertrouwen in de markt.<\/a> De wetgeving zou hier dus een verbod op willen leggen, om soortgelijke verhalen te voorkomen.<\/span><\/p>

CBDC<\/span><\/h3>

Naast het aanpakken van wat er met Terra gebeurde, zou het wetsvoorstel banken en niet-banken toestaan om stablecoins uit te geven. Bank Uitgevers zouden goedkeuring moeten vragen aan federale toezichthouders, zoals de OCC. Daarnaast zou het de impact van een potenti\u00eble Amerikaanse digitale dollar - ook bekend als een digitale munt van de centrale bank - kunnen bestuderen en effecten op het financi\u00eble systeem en de banksector.<\/span><\/p>

Toekomst<\/span><\/h3>

De tijd die het panel heeft om het wetsvoorstel voor het einde van het jaar te behandelen wordt korter, ook omdat tussentijdse verkiezingen het proces naar alle waarschijnlijkheid zullen bemoeilijken. Het is dus afwachten. Wat onduidelijk is de manier hoe de regulators dit willen gaan implementeren.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Gaan ze de ontwerpers van de stablecoins aanpakken of gaan de gebruikers de dupe worden van deze wetsveranderingen.
