Wat is stETH? <\/span><\/h2>\n

Liquid Staked Ether - stETH op LidoFinance is een volledige representatie van Ethereum - ETH, dat gestaked wordt op de Ethereum PoS-beacon chain. Wat betekent dat stETH wordt ondersteund door ETH (1:1) en in de toekomst verhandelbaar zal zijn.<\/span><\/p>\n

stETH is een ERC20-token dat bruikbaar is binnen het DeFi-ecosysteem. Het heeft ook een native yield <\/span>(4% APY) die je niet krijgt met alleen ETH te hebben.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wanneer kunt je stETH verhandelen?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Het doel van stETH is het geven van <\/span>een 'bewijs' <\/span>token voor iedereen die ETH op Lido heeft gestort om in afwachting van de merge. Wanneer de merge eindelijk plaatsvindt, duurt het nog 6-12 maanden voor opnames worden ingeschakeld en stETH kan worden ingewisseld voor ETH. Wees je ervan bewust dat er al een wachtrij is op de beacon chain voor deze opnames.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hoeveel is sETH echt waard?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Staked Ether - stETH heeft geen vaste peg, omdat het wordt gewaardeerd wordt op wat de secundaire markt het waardeert. Over het algemeen handelt sETH niet tegen een waarde boven 1 ETH omdat het in de toekomst kan worden ingewisseld voor 1 ETH.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ook weerspiegelt de wisselkoers tussen sETH:ETH niet de onderliggende 'backing' van jouw staked ETH. <\/span>Het inwisselen stETH op een secundaire markt is gewoon gecre\u00eberd voor gebruikersgemak. <\/span><\/p>\n

Waarom verliest sETH zijn 1:1-pegging met ETH? <\/span><\/h2>\n

Er zijn verschillende redenen waarom sETH tijdelijk onder zijn onderpandwaarde handelt. De belangrijkste reden is waarschijnlijk de leverage traders die hun Ethereum posities gedwongen moeten verkopen omdat hun onderpand minder waard is geworden. <\/span><\/p>\n

Omdat stETH een ERC20 token is dat als onderpand kan worden gebruikt, hebben mensen hiervan gebruik gemaakt om stETH als onderpand op verschillende DeFi-platforms te storten, ETH te lenen, in Lido gestort voor stETH en het proces herhaald. Hierdoor een synthetische hefboomwerking gecre\u00eberd\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Het is heel goed mogelijk dat sommige 'leverage' stETH-holders zullen worden geliquideerd tegen bepaalde stETH-prijzen wanneer ze niet voldoende onderpand hebben om aan hun positie te voegen. Dit zal posities gedwongen sluiten en verkopen tegen de marktprijs, mogelijk kan dit een liquidatiecascade veroorzaken.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wat kun je doen als sETH de-pegs?<\/span>
<\/p>\n

Afhankelijk van jouw tijdsvoorkeur en risicotolerantie, kan het kopen van stETH lonen. Dit komt omdat stETH nog steeds 1:1 wordt 'gebacked' door staked ETH.<\/span><\/p>\n

Als de secundaire markt 1 stETH waardeert voor 0,80 ETH (20%-korting), kan je een winst maken als je de tijd hebt om te wachten op enkele maanden na de merge.<\/span><\/p>\n

Er is geen sprake van een 'death spiral' zoals Luna en UST voor Ethereum - ETH. Dit omdat stETH-liquidaties niet zullen leiden tot een prijscrash van ETH, omdat het niet direct verbonden is aan de staked Ether.<\/span><\/p>\n
