Volgens velen is het feit dat crypto buiten de controle van de overheid en het bankwezen valt, \u00e9\u00e9n van de beste eigenschappen van cryptocurrency. Regelgeving zou dit feit natuurlijk kunnen veranderen, waardoor verschillende investeerders de schrik te pakken krijgen.<\/p><p>Deze angst is niet zonder reden. Overheden bespreken in toenemende mate regulering van crypto, de EU is bijvoorbeeld bezig met het verbieden van gedecentraliseerde portemonnees, zoals MetaMask. Maar dit is het niet, er zijn ook redenen om te denken dat wereldwijde crypto-regulering op komst is.<\/p><h2>Wereldwijde cryptoregulatie<\/h2><p>Ashley Alder, de president van de International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), hint naar wereldwijde regelgeving, die van toepassing zal zijn op alle cryptomarkten. Hij geeft aan dat naar zijn mening de cryptomarkt gedekt moet worden door IOSCO.<\/p><p><em>&quot;Het is heel belangrijk&quot;, benadrukt Alder. &quot;Als je kijkt naar de risico&#039;s, zijn die groot en op institutioneel niveau is er grote bezorgdheid.&quot;<\/em><\/p><p>IOSCO is een organisatie die de wereldwijde markten reguleert. Leden van IOSCO zijn de 'lokale' toezichthouders, in het geval van Nederland is bijvoorbeeld de AFM (Nederlandse Autoriteit Financi\u00eble Markten) lid van IOSCO. Meer dan 95% financi\u00eble markten worden gereguleerd door IOSCO. Dit omvat dus nog niet de cryptocurrency-markten. Als het aan Ashley Alder, de voorzitter, ligt, zal de in de toekomst deze regelgeving hieromtrent veranderen.<\/p><p>E\u00e9n van de problemen van de cryptomarkten is volgens Alder het gebrek aan transparantie en cybersecurity in verschillende protocollen. Daarnaast vindt Ashley Alder dat er een wereldwijde richtlijn moet komen als het gaat om regelgeving, aangezien alle landen zelf bepalen wat ze aan regels stellen.
