Deze week kwam daar ineens verandering in, toen Terra USD (UST), de stablecoin van de Terra blockchain, ineens zijn peg verloor. Deze stablecoin was ineens niet meer stable, en de prijs schoot onder de $1. Als gevolg: de prijs van zowel UST als LUNA stortte volledig in. Maar wat is er precies gebeurd?<\/p>\n

Totdat het plotseling veranderde en Terra USD (UST), de stablecoin van de Terra-blockchain, zijn koppeling verloor. Deze stabiele coin was ineens niet meer stabiel en de prijs schoot onder de $1. Als gevolg hiervan stortte de prijs van zowel UST als LUNA volledig in. Maar wat is er precies gebeurd?<\/p>\n

LUNA en UST<\/h2>\n

LUNA en UST zijn dus de belangrijkste munten op de Terra blockchain. De twee zijn ook aan elkaar gekoppeld, in een mechanisme dat ervoor zou moeten zorgen dat UST stabiel aan de $1 blijft. Dit werkt als volgt: wanneer iemand 1 UST (wat dus $1 zou moeten zijn) koopt, wordt er $1 aan LUNA geburnt. Hetzelfde geldt andersom: wanneer iemand 1 UST verkoopt, wordt er $1 aan LUNA gemint.<\/p>

Nu verloor UST dus zijn peg, wat volgens geruchten gebeurde omdat traditionele investeringspartijen massaal UST op de markt hebben verkocht. De prijs van UST zakte hierdoor onder de $1 en er ontstond al vrij snel paniek.<\/p>\n

Allereerst werd UST massaal verkocht, waardoor een enorme hoeveelheid LUNA werd gemint en het aantal coin's in omloop aanzienlijk toenam.<\/p>\n

Dit dreef de prijs omlaag en in samenkomst met de paniek zette LUNA een flinke daling in. Niemand wist waar de bodem zou liggen en tot nu toe bleek deze rond $0.0001 te liggen, waar LUNA in november nog $120 per munt waard was.<\/p>\n

Er zijn verschillende verhalen op Twitter van mensen die miljoenen hebben verloren aan deze krankzinnige crash. Onder hen was youtuber en rapper: KSI<\/a>, die $2,8 miljoen verloor in LUNA, hij nam de serieuze klap goed op en plaatste op Twitter dat hij bij de volgende bull run er terug zal zijn.<\/p>\n
