Iedereen die ooit van crypto heeft gehoord, heeft gehoord van Dogecoin. Als \u00e9\u00e9n van de bekendste cryptocurrencies ter wereld, dat enorm steeg nadat Elon Musk en andere beroemdheden erover tweetten. <\/span><\/p>

Hoewel velen het erover eens zijn dat Dogecoin gewoon verpakte lucht is, geloven anderen dan weer dat het gemakkelijk de \"munteenheid van internet\" of de \"van het volk\" kan worden. Deze gedurfde uitspraak werd bekendgemaakt door Vladimir Tenev, de CEO van het bekende Amerikaanse investeringsplatform Robinhood. <\/span><\/p>\n

De mening van de CEO van Robinhood<\/span><\/h2>\n

Vladimir Tenev deelde zijn mening over Dogecoin, met zijn 200.000 volgers op Twitter. In de 12-delige thread legt de CEO van RobinHood de functies uit waarvan hij denkt dat ze Dogecoin erg groot kunnen maken en in feite de \"munteenheid van internet\" kunnen worden. Hij stelt de vraag: wat heeft Dogecoin nodig om dit daadwerkelijk voor elkaar te krijgen?<\/span><\/p>\n

Het eerste kenmerk dat een valuta van het internet nodig heeft, zijn volgens de CEO van Robinhood lage transactiekosten. Een transactie met Dogecoin kan worden afgerond voor ongeveer $0.003, sinds de update in november. Dit is een stuk minder dan de 1% tot 3%, die de meeste betaalkaarten in rekening brengen, benadrukt Tenev. <\/span><\/p>\n

Een tweede belangrijk kenmerk is dat transacties snel kunnen worden afgerond, zoals financi\u00eble dienstverleners zoals VISA, die in theorie 65.000 transacties per seconde kunnen uitvoeren. De munteenheid van internet zou dit in ieder geval ook moeten kunnen. Op dit moment kan Dogecoin niet schalen zoals VISA, maar Tenev zegt dat dit in de toekomst zou kunnen gebeuren, door <\/span>gewoon de blokgrootte van Dogecoin te vergroten. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hij vermeld ook de kritiek die mensen hebben op tokenomics van Dogecoin, namelijk dat het aanbod voortdurend groeit en er geen limiet is aan hoe groot het kan worden. Momenteel is het aanbod 132.000.000.000.000 en groeit het met ongeveer 5.000.000.000.000 per jaar. Dit betekent dat er een groeipercentage is van ongeveer 3,8%. Dat is beduidend minder dan 5%, de inflatie van de Amerikaanse dollar, aldus Vladimir Tenev. <\/span><\/p>\n
