Vandaag vond in het Europees Parlement een stemming plaats over het al dan niet goedkeuren van het gebruik van 'unhosted wallets', oftewel een cryptowallet die niet van een financi\u00eble partij is. Voorbeelden van 'Unhosted wallets' zijn: MetaMask en Phantom Wallet,\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De stemmen waren zeer dicht bij elkaar, waar 52 leden stemden voor het gebruik van deze niet-gehoste wallets en 58 mensen stemden tegen. De Financial Action Task Force (FATF) <b>wijst erop dat dit de kapitaalstroom duidelijker zal maken<\/b>.<\/span><\/p><h2>Unhosted wallets in de Europese Unie<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wat dit concreet gaat betekenen voor crypto is nog onduidelijk. Er wordt gezegd dat vanaf nu alle transacties boven de \u20ac 1000 tot in detail moeten worden geregistreerd. Er moet bijvoorbeeld worden aangegeven wie de afzender en wie de ontvanger is.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En dat niet alleen, je zou ook niet meer zelf een private cryptoportfolio mogen beheren. Dit kan en mag enkel gedaan worden door een erkende autoriteit. Als deze aannames kloppen, is de kans groot dat dit het einde betekent van DeFi (decentralized finance).\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Echter, zoals we eerder al aangaven, is nog onduidelijk wat de exacte effecten van dit besluit zullen zijn.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In april zal meer duidelijk worden, wanneer de Commissie Economische en Monetaire Zaken (ECON) in een plenaire vergadering met een voorstel moet komen. Als er tegen die tijd geen bezwaar is van de Europese Unie, gaat het verbod op anonieme cryptotransacties in.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We weten op dit moment te weinig, om je concreet te informeren. We weten bijvoorbeeld niet of dit verbod over 3 weken, over 3 maanden of over 3 jaar ingaat.
