They have a very simplistic interface and in buying and selling coins through the platform you can&#8217;t really do anything wrong either. They now have more than 20 million unique users spread over 42 countries. In addition, over $150 billion has already been traded on the platform.<\/p><h3>What is the history of Coinbase?<\/h3><p>Coinbase is one of the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges active in the current market and therefore has a longer history than other exchanges such as Binance, Kucoin and Bitmax. Coinbase was founded by Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam in June 2012. In October 2012, the first version of Coinbase went live which allowed Bitcoin to be purchased through bank transfers. At this point, Coinbase acted more like a cryptocurrency wallet on which initial purchases could also be made. Fairly soon after in May 2013, Coinbase managed to raise 5 million euros through venture capital in order to continue to grow. At Coinbase this is also the case, only they do it slightly differently than most.<\/p><p>Depositing digital currency costs an additional \u20ac10, unless you deposit through ACH. For buying and selling digital currency through Coinbase, you&#8217;ll pay two different components:<\/p><p>The market price of the currency you are buying + 0,5%.<br \/>Transaction fees of up to 2.99$ for purchases below 200$ or a percentage of the total purchase cost.
