What cryptocurrency are interesting to buy, long term? Why?

Those who have followed my (Marco) adventure so far, know that I’m all about fundamental analysis, combined with technical analysis to time entries.

Having read hundreds of white papers throughout the past couple of years, I learned to identify solid projects at an early stage. This is an everlasting learning process, but it’s definitely worked out well and allowed me to build a decent cryptocurrency portfolio.

Last week, I published my top-10 cryptocurrency picks. These are ten different cryptocurrencies I selected carefully based on their fundamentals, product-market fit, opportunity (project stage) and potential profits vs downside risk.

I’d like to stress we are not financial advisors and this is not financial advice. This post includes an overview of projects I strongly believe will continue to see growth and adoption. Though, make sure you do your own research and only use this post for informative purposes.

The recently published list of top-10 cryptocurrency picks

Though, not all of these long-term picks. For this, a different list would apply which you can find below.

Long-Term Picks

So, here’s which cryptocurrency projects probably would be suitable for anyone’s long-term portfolio (note, I do not hold all of these myself):

Binance Coin (BNB): Binance is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world. BNB is currently trading at $522 with a $80,361,636,010 market cap. It’s clear CZ likes to drive adoption and growth of his own coin, and, so far he’s been very successful.

I believe BNB is a must-have in anyone’s long-term cryptocurrency portfolio simply because Binance continues to be the leading (& most innovative) exchange. As the interest in crypto continues to grow, so does Binance’s user base. As well as, Binance Smart Chain continues to grow rapidly, which is fully fuelled by BNB.

Uniswap (UNI): Uniswap is the leading decentralized exchange on the Ethereum Network, followed by Pancakeswap on the Binance Smart Chain. It is expected Uniswap V3 launches in the near future with all sorts of new features, to hopefully improve the user’s trading experience further. Even though I’m not necessarily bullish on the Ethereum Network right now, due to the current gas fee climate, I do believe Uniswap (UNI) will continue to see huge growth.

LTO Network (LTO): LTO Network is a fascinating project I’ve followed since their launch in 2018. It’s Europe’s leading (hybrid) blockchain for securing, verifying and exchanging business critical information. Working together with parties such as the United Nations, Dutch & Belgian government really put them on people’s radar as they continue their push for actual adoption.

Spartan Protocol (SPARTA): Spartan Protocol aims to build synthetic assets on the Binance Smart Chain. Those who’ve read my Quora posts know I’m a big fan of synthetic assets and believe we’re still in the beginning of seeing the actual potential of synths. The traditional finance world needs to evolve, synthetic assets mimic assets such as gold and stocks, allowing for them to be traded 24/7, anywhere.

OctoFi (OCTO): OctoFi is your all-in-one DeFi & NFT platform with cashbacks. ‘’OctoFi gives you cash back when you transact with trusted DeFi and NFT marketplaces, across multiple blockchains, through our all-in-one dApp or browser-plugin Wallet.’’ As I believe DeFi will continue to grow, I believe OctoFi provides a solid upside opportunity with its current low market cap but very active and engaging community, and fast-growing user base.

Energy Web Token (EWT): Energy Web is a must-have pick for anyone interested in (green) energy. Energy Web built solutions for renewable energy markets, digital solutions for green electric vehicle charging, and solutions for demand flexibility. Already working with the world’s most influential and trusted energy companies.

Solana (SOL): Solana is probably one of the most promising blockchains out there, which I expect to see a continuous surge of interest from the crypto space. I’m well aware SOL is already trading at rank #21 at the moment, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t still have a large upside potential. Expecting to see many projects to launch on Solana throughout 2021, similar to what we’ve seen for Polkadot and the Binance Smart Chain.

Presearch (PRE): I might be slightly biased here, as I’m involved with Presearch. But, I cannot deny the market opportunity that’s here for an actual decentralized search engine that is powered by a community and rewards the community. As the technology and search experience continues to improve, the engine is ready for mass adoption. Expecting to see marketing and PR pushes throughout 2021, to further grow the user base that currently already counts over 2M users. As well as PRE is trading at a market cap of only $33M.

Do note that I can’t possibly have researched every single project, and that there surely are other projects that would fit within this list. Although, at this moment these projects would have my personal preference for a long-term portfolio, if I were to create one today. Based on product-market fit, the phases the projects are at, and the growth potential that’s there.
