Ukraine receives over 60 million in donations in crypto

The Ukrainian government, essentially an non-governmental organization – NGO, that provides support to the military has raised roughly $60 million in donations since the start of the Russian invasion.

The Ukrainian government asked for crypto donations in both Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polkadot and other cryptocurrencies. Since the day of the first attack the total donations collected are more than $60 million.

The majority of donations received to date have been in Bitcoin ($12,8 million) or received in Ether and ERC-20 tokens ($50 million).

But it’s not only cryptocurrencies that are being donated. Supporters are also sending NFTs to the Ukrainian government’s Ethereum account. A CryptoPunk NFT (#5364) worth approximately $200,000 has also been sent to the official Ethereum account.

UkraineDAO also held an auction where they sold an NFT of the Ukrainian flag for $6.75 million in ETH. Wich makes it the 10th most expensive NFT ever sold.
