‘Bitcoin can become currency of the world’

‘What does the future of Bitcoin look like?” is a frequent topic of conversation today. Where the conversations first took place at the office coffee machine, but today this conversation also takes place at the World Economic Forum. In fact, an event of the World Economic Forum was recently held in Davos, Switzerland, where Francis Suarez, the mayor of Miami, was also present.

‘Bitcoin is going to change a lot of lives’

Among other things, Francis Suarez suggested at this conference that he sees Bitcoin as a technology that is going to change a lot of lives. In doing so, he indicated that Bitcoin offers different possibilities, for example, to democratize or even disrupt certain regimes.

When he says these things, he is not referring to the price or rate of Bitcoin, he indicated. What really matters to him is the technology behind Bitcoin, where he doesn’t really care whether the price of Bitcoin is $100,000 or $1,000,000.

Miami & crypto

You’re probably wondering, why is it interesting what the mayor of Miami has to say about Bitcoin. The thing is, Miami is already very actively involved in crypto. In fact, as a city, Miami participates in the CityCoins project, which is built on the Stacks blockchain.

CityCoin is a project that allows communities in cities to improve the city, among other things by creating a budget for the city. So far 3 cities are participating in the project, Miami, New York City and Austin.

So, according to a mayor who is already implementing a crypto project in his city in this way, Bitcoin is going to play a huge role in the future of the world. For example, he expects that the SWIFT system will no longer be needed.
